Actually, they are getting the rules up to speed. MMA was close to being banned, in our open market, due to "human cockfighting" violence. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt in media controlled China. Everything I have read, that has been translated, is that they are working up to complete full contact.

Definitely getting better. It seems to me that once they've simplified the gear and made it into kyokushin with a greater emphasis on throws and ring-outs, they'll converge with what Yuan Zumou has been teaching as "Shoubo" for the last 20 years:

Style: Stick, Taiji, combatives--
I thought it was pretty cool! Every type of combat doesn't always have to be full contact rules. It is a good way to get in the mix and be able to show/practice techniques. I like the style vs. style aspect of it.
