Actually, they are getting the rules up to speed. MMA was close to being banned, in our open market, due to "human cockfighting" violence. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt in media controlled China. Everything I have read, that has been translated, is that they are working up to complete full contact.

The shows no longer look like fake "WWE" works anymore.

They're definitely experimenting with the rules. I like that the chest-protectors are no longer gigantic. Now strikes to the body not only mean points, but can potentially put one's opponent down.

When these first appeared I liked the premise and hated the fight. Each year it has become better. I've read other forums where KK guys are saying it is closing in on knockdown Karate rules.

As long as they are improving the rules I don't care.

Definitely getting better. It seems to me that once they've simplified the gear and made it into kyokushin with a greater emphasis on throws and ring-outs, they'll converge with what Yuan Zumou has been teaching as "Shoubo" for the last 20 years:

I thought it was pretty cool! Every type of combat doesn't always have to be full contact rules. It is a good way to get in the mix and be able to show/practice techniques. I like the style vs. style aspect of it.
