In the Marine Corps its more dependent upon the individual unit, vice the actual base. Now that the martial arts program is important to rank, people often pursue it for that aspect. Others include it into their weekly physical training schedule. The people in these units are more efficient because they get more practice in, whereas many simply train up, get their sustainment hours, and test out for a new belt to help with an upcoming promotion, then cease their MCMAP training. Its all highly variable. Some guys just get together to roll and call it MCMAP training.
