    Purple Belt

    I just got my purple belt in BJJ today. I suck but I got it. I received it from Chris Blanke, who is a BB under Saulo and Xande Ribeiro. Most of you do not probably care, but I am happy with myself. Go me.

    I've been training for a little over 8 years under Chris Blanke, more off than on though. Chris is one of Saulo and Xande Ribeiro's first black belts, at least here in America. Hopefully it doesn't take me as long to get my black belt or hell even my brown belt.

    How does one camp out at a belt? Did you make an effort not to advance? I'm a blue and won't get my purple for many years I'm sure because I suck. But everything I've seen from you has shown lots of skill.

    Purple belt is the worst belt IMO. Lots of people think you're good but you still feel terrible when you roll with good Browns and Blacks. Send a pic of your cert to a mod and get your fancy tag.

    They don't do that anymore cause everyone has a purple belt now or something. I was going to, but like a week after they quit giving out the tag. Browns and blacks only now.


    And congrats man! Trust me, purple is the best place to plataeu and watch as everyone around you quickly gets better and better as you progress slower and slower and get older and older. lol

    The plan is to train. I'm hopefully going tomorrow. But I agree the purple belt, is one of the coolest looking belts.
