You're not a real cop.

You can't rip out an eye. You can shoot someone, but I'm pretty sure you can't rip someone's eye out when you melee. That's not reasonable force there Judge Dredd.

My jaw nearly hit the floor when she told me that. Some people seem to have endless capacity for compartmentalisation.

It's actually extremely common for scientists to begin as atheists/agnostics and convert into some form of religion or deism as a result of their careers. Particularly in cosmology and physics.

Something about solving unknowns always leading to even more unknowns, and the cause-and-effect model of our world leading inevitably to a "first cause" leads them to more divine thinking.
