No. Shaolin-do and Judo are apple and oranges plus, you have East Coast vs. West Bias in Shaolin-do vs Chinese Shaolin Center. I'd say, if they didn't have a bullshido history, there is less drama in Shaolin-do than Judo. Judo competes and is in the Olympics whereas, Shaolin-do is not recognized on a national or World level.

My point was that just because "everyone" already knows there is BS in Judo is no reason not to give it the once over when warranted. We already know many things are BS, and rip them up all the time.

Looking back with the way back machine at the list of affiiated dojo heads, I find that this is only occasionally true. For example 3632913 12/7/2006 Judo Hachidan is listed as a Judo 1st dan on 9/25/2006 (ie: 3 months before receiving USJA rank). Some folks (Lowry for example) have the same rank in JA now as they had with Geis before entering the JA system, many however do not. It's not a simple case of rank mirroring with a different group; 3632913 picked up 7 dan grades above where Geis had him ranked when he entered JA.

Ben, (assuming you are talking about Nick) first off 2006-1983=23. Second, by your own accounting of the facts Nick was already an 8th dan before 2006. That said, Lowry is actually among the few people in this group that can show substantial time in Judo before getting their high USJA rank.
