Thinking of joining the Military

For years I dreamed of becoming a pilot in the Air Force, but my eyesight kept me out. Years later, I actually became glad that I never joined, but it was hard for me to stomach at the time.

@Devil: That last point makes a lot of sense.

Of course if I were to go the career route, it would be with the intention of being an officer. Either by completing my degree beforehand, or doing the degree during my first couple years as Enlisted, or going through OCS.

Meh. People put too much emphasis on personal comfort. Nothing makes you tougher than being in the suck. It helps put life into perspective.
