    Hell yeah! Hell no!
I tried this twice on Tuesday during no gi. First time I only half completed it because I forgot to check which leg was over and which was under. The second time though worked great. Thanks for the great instructional vid Omega.

A similar thing happened with me while I was rolling. Still a very helpful video.

Watched this video a few times this morning and decided to try it at No-Gi. I actually jumped it off on the first try and though it was a bit sloppy compared to the demo it worked as advertised; guard to side control. I am certain that if I can drill this a bit with someone I can really get it down. Thanks.

thanks for posting, going to have to try this one. question though, if not done explosively it seems like you are at risk for getting your back taken no?

If not done correctly you're going to have your back taken; if you pull from it and forget to keep weight on leg and hip correctly.

I use a similar move to escape triangles. What do you think of that Omega-san? I think it was in a GSP instructional at one point.

Does it matter which way your opponents ankles are hooked when you try this? I was working it last night and kept having to reset because my opponents guard didn't break open.
In retrospect it seems like if I had spun the other direction based on how his ankles were crossed it would have opened up properly...

I use a similar one but I go the other way. I also don't step over as much as drive.

It's not so much the spin as much as driving in on your opponent. If he holds on with his legs and rolls with you, you simply lock his legs a la the other fore mentioned video. So in other words, no, it does not matter.

Tried it on a brown belt Saturday morning. Total fail but the "WTF are you trying to do?" look on his face was interesting.
