IF she was just pinning her, fine. However the girl has a yoko sankaku jime. He still should have checked on her way before 30 seconds elapsed.

I'm just wondering why the winning fighter didn't let go when he felt his opponent tapping.

Concerned that the ref would be all "it doesn't count as a tap if I didn't see it" and that the fight would go on, I guess.

MMA fighter 101: Do not let go until the ref stops the fight. Fighters have been know to "phantom tap" they tap you when the ref doesn't see and you let go he keeps fighting and you can protest all you want if the ref didn't see it it didn't happen. This has also happened at grappling events.

The thing that gets me is that the ref immediately calls the fight right after the choke is released. As if the ref was waiting for the fighter to tell him "Ok, it's over"

I have never seen Dojime work. In fact I dont remember ever seeing it used effectively in MMA. I dont even remember it ever being used in the original UFC's and a lot of those guys were all about pulling out borderline ****. But then again I was 9 and my hero was JCVD so I wouldnt have know what was I was seeing anyway.

If you are referring to the fight that was posted, that wasn't dojime.

Yea, dojime is body crush, but the rules on Competiton from the IJF only say Dojime and have "leg scissors apllied to the body, head, or neck" in parenthesis so I dont know what the proper japanese vernacular is when applying scissors to the neck.

Whats the better term?
