    Hell yeah! Hell no!
Is this technique really REALLY necessary for the average shmuck civilian to ever practice ? I could maybe see actual cops needing to do this but how often are they standing that close to someone that suddenly needs shooting ?

How often is the average civilian going to deploy a handgun at a long distance?

The average gun fight last 3 seconds, at a range of 3 yards and 3 shots are fired. two to the chest one to the head
Why would you shoot yourself on the world wide web? Why? Is this perfomance art? if i shot myself i would definately keep it a secret

The guy wasn't just at close range he was making sweet sweet love to the cardboard. You could kill the target with a sharpened tooth brush at that distance

Would this guy qualify for that custom tag we have on here (or there used to be, at least) for people who got shot - and lived?

Nobody goes to Starbucks anymore. It's too crowded.

Yeah, I suppose that there'd be too many 'human shields' in event of a firefight.

Scenario: you have failed at situational awareness, bad guy is in contact range with a knife. You may have found this out by getting stabbed. Solution: stiff-arm shove to create a step's distance, draw, pivot the wrist on target, grab your shirt collar with your off hand, and fire as you back-pedal. Shooting yourself through the leg is optional, and not widely recommended.
