After he shot himself his training took over and he called his Mom and Pop, shouldn't his training have kicked in earlier and stopped him from shooting himself in his leg?

he then tells us to "Join the NRS to protect your rights" but he's not exactly a poster boy for anything other than a disarmament campaign,

Weapon OBVIOUSLY off safe...finger in the trigger well as he draws....two things that I would've gotten skull dragged by my Drill Sergeants for if I did that in BCT. What a fucking idiot. He's lucky that nobody was around...he may have ended up shootin' someone else instead.

1) I actually respect the fact that he posted that and took responsibility for his actions.

2) He may not think the Sherpa holster was an issue, but the design of it lends itself to problems if careful attention is not paid to the drawstroke.

3) The fact that he was drawing a few inches from the target is not the issue. In fact, an ECQB draw is a valid technique. The issue is a manipulation and operator error problem made worse by the design of the Sherpa holster IMO.

It looks like complacency was an issue here. He did that draw thousands of times, so nothing should go wrong.... Multiple weapon types, multiple set ups.

I do have to give him credit for admitting it was his fault though.
