Used to be known as the Finningley nose throw when I was a kid.

I used to have a Raleigh Striker too. I can't remember if it was silver or grey.
Choppers were all the rage back then, but the gear-shift was on the central frame of the bike. Not very ergonomic in my youthful opinion.

Showing wisdom beyond my years, I upgraded from the Striker to a Grifter instead. It still had three gears, but the shift was built into the handgrip.

I remember falling out with one of my friends who wouldn't share a toy waterpistol too. He was kind of a neighbor. You know, not next door, but across the street. Close enough to be neighbor, and I think my parents were friends of his parents.

Anyway, it ended badly and I think I got a nosebleed.

I got hit in the face with an etch-a-sketch once too. That was a nightmare.

Not a real nightmare. I mean it really happened. It wasn't a bad dream.

It's been a while since I had a really bad dream. One of them involved seeing my sister crawling across the upstairs hall. Her jaw was broken, and her head was rotating round and grinning at me.

I tried to talk to her, but she just kept grinning and rotating, grinning and rotating.
That totaly happened to me too, well actually none of it did, I remember having a Striker and wanting a Chopper though (they had those freaking tall handle bars!!) but your critique of the ergonomics of the gear shift make me glad I never got one now!

    appreciate the info

If someone doesn't recommend Shaolin Challenges Ninja (AKA Heroes of the East, AKA Challenge of the Ninja), I'm going to go on a ninja-inspired killing frenzy

Woah, is that the one where he fights various Japanese arts before facing the ninja?

Vague memories of him oiling himself up to fight a judo guy. (not in a gay way though)

    That was an awesome film

    Exactly:
    Tonfa vs. guai
    Katana vs. gim
    Judo vs. generic kung fu
Karate vs. drunken style kung fu
    Yari vs. chiang (spears)
    Sai vs. butterfly swords
    Ninjitsu vs. generic kung fu

    and finally,

Japanese crab style vs. Chinese white crane

    Best. Movie. Ever.

Wow, I don't remember there being so many. I watched it when I was about 13 (Mid 80's). Memory tells me the ninja was a woman, and there may have been some lurking in the water breathing through reeds?

Any one remember Ninja Mission from that time?
It was ****. They all had guns and just wore balaclavas.
