“Teachers confuse the world, and lead the practitioners astray, all for the sake of fame and profit. I am much grieved by this situation, and it is exactly for this reason that I strive to set things right." 1) Humans have been around for millions of years so there isn't any style that is that old.
2) Any style you see today is NOT practiced like it was then. Example I commonly use is that you can got to 10 different people and have them perform the same Taolu/kata and would get 10 different variations and interpretations. If that is happening now what do you think happened then will ability to document things?
3) Chinese MArtist, any MArtist for that matter, called BS all the time. There were fighters and their were "dancers" and you had many would call other out on that fact.
4) Martial Arts is always going to be around. As long as there is human nature someone is going want to put fist to face. So it will have a continuing presence in society. Not all styles are created equal and you will have BS around just as you do now.______

Style: Judo--
Isn't a lot of it a fairly modern response to Kung Fu movies (the emphasis on giant kicks and acrobatic movements, at least)? I thought that the older arts tended to be more reasonable. They're still not necessarily the best way of doing things, but it's easily better than being untrained.
