Do Five Rings Centers & Shinken Bujutsu ring the bell?

you know for shits and giggles i read pretty much both of those websites in their entirety. I came across this in their "dojo safety rules":

10) Members will not attend any other martial arts activity without Sensei’s consent so as to prevent negative influence.

Negative influence? Is that a fancy way of saying "we don't want your kids finding out that what we're teaching them is garbage and find out there are better and more effective martial arts out there taught by more competent people"?

I would go to train at the Shinken Bujutsu Dojo. I do and I fly up to train with sensei from TX. Randori (Standing, striking/grappling, throwing and ground) is done all the time.

I have no clue about the other school. The best thing to do is to try the school out that you are looking at and rely on your own opinion.

I agree but, it would be a school I visited last.

Red Flag. After training under this type of logic hell no even if it is the greatest school ever.

Ok I looked at the other site and it is in no way connected to the Shinken Bujutsu Dojo.

I just joined this site and forum in an effort to pay answer to your inquiry. I know Shihan Ariza very very well for we are one and the same. Should you have any additional questions, you may ask them here or send them directly to me at my personal e-mail. I do not mind; really!

As for Sensei Joe of the Shinken, we have met long time ago since both were involved with the Genbukan. From my experience, Sensei Joe seemed to do his best at teaching great classes. He seems to be a great teacher but do not take my word since others may differ.

I am both in Long Island and in Brooklyn and only teach the 2 arts for which I did my Professorship thesis... Takagi Yoshin Ryu Samurai Ju-Taijutsu and Kokushin Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu. Kind regards to you.
