Why is boxing so effective?

The only thing this video proves is that the boxer is technically better than the karatekas. The boxer was hitting through his opponents; the karatekas weren't.

Do you really mean most fights are won by "lucky shots?" I really would not bother training for all of these years if I thought luck was the deciding factor. You might say that everyday fights are won by low probability shots ie looping hooks or that one shot that happens to knock the guy out cold. Most people train to put the odds in their favor with skill.

For Boxing in particular training and odds are the variables. Luck would be maybe the other guy ate beans that day and working his body got explosive results!

No, you fail at reading comprehension. OP does not gender identify. I think you got tripped up on the parenthetical throwaway line, which was intended to forestall "that's what she said" comments in regards to the immediately preceding sentence (the last part of it anyhow).

Boxing is highly effective IMO, because non-aerobic boxing training is highly alive, and highly taxing in terms of cardio and conditioning, dealing with adrenaline dumps, non-flinchyness, and rapid delivery of 'the s3rious'. A guy training to fight in the ring for multiple rounds, put in a str33t setting, without a ref, time considerations, rules, etc..can lay a machine gun burst of whoop ass, in an instant.

In the gym, boxers can be tackled, low kicked, etc. Outside of it, in clothes, out-and-about. A good chin, and a good pair of hands goes a long way.

I'm not talking style vs style, or even gym vs str33t. I'm just saying, that on said str33t, all things considered, they're well off in the mix there.

That goes double in Mass, where kicking/kneeing someone is a shod foot (assault with a dangerous weapon). Fisticuffs FTW.
