They also make T- shirts loose fitting and out of cotton. Have you ever seen a loose fitting, cotton rash guard? No! The reason he asked for a rash guard was to be specific. It helps in communication to be specific so as to avoid stupid suggestions arising. You should try it some time.

Frankly I have never heard the term prior to this thread and do not understand the need, but to each their own.
