Besides, as martial artists, we're more likely than the average person to find a need for obscure muscles that most people don't think about. Think about what you're using to fight off a kimura, bridge off a mounted opponent, etc. etc.

Many many years ago I wrote a thread called "Stretching in Detail". Check that one out too if you get a chance. It talks about flexibility in general, but it also talks a lot about how flexibility ties in with postural alignment and control, and has some general advice. If you have further questions or want to get into anything in more detail, you can PM me. Or better yet, start a new thread in the PT Forum so the information can be shared.

Great read. A lot of people neglect training their core and posture (me included) mostly because they dont know exacly what it is and how much it affects us.
This article helped to shed some light on the subject for me.

I'd also like to throw this out there:
I'm totally down to answer questions, or write about requested topics. For simplicity, if you have a question on a topic related to a thread, post it in that thread. If it's a big topic, you can PM or email me, or better yet, post a comment on my Facebook Page (my training page, not my personal one).
Questions with a shorter answer, I'll make a thread or email you back. If it's a big topic, I'll do those things and I'll write an article about it in my newsletter.
