Style: BJJ, Wing Chun Do
I am trying to find a website or literature that explains how the techniques in jiu jitsu work.
For example: What happens with a Triangle Choke? I have heard that it restricts blood flow from the carotid arteries. However, I have also read that restricting the carotid arteries is nearly impossible without clamps because of their pressure; and it's actually blocking the carotid veins creating pressure in the head and people pass out because the heart rate drops as a response.
I admit my googling didn't come up with any really definitive site, mostly just people commenting on what happens.
Most of the results were Demian Maia's dvd collection or school websites that talk about Jiu Jitsu is proven scientifically.
I just find it interesting to see what actually happens to the body when techniques are applied (Be they jiu jitsu or just a straight punch).

Apologies for not using the search in BS.

I don't know if you're indicating BJJ in writing "Jiu Jitsu", but if you're investigating unarmed Japanese fighting in general you would do well to read Karl Friday's treatise on the Koryūha: Legacies of the Sword. Although it specifically addresses Kashima Shinryū, I think you'll find wealth of information on classical JMA and the "science" behind their combat.

Thanks DARPAChief. I will look into that. Honestly, I just wrote Jiu Jitsu because of BJJ, but I look forward to learning anything about the topic.
