    MMA, BJJ and MUAY THAI

    Hi guys,

    I have a few questions:
.How heavily incorporated BJJ and MT are into MMA?
.How would taking mma differ from taking pure BJJ and MT together?
.What techniques from BJJ or MT does MMA leave out?

Sorry if they seem silly. But thanks in advance!

Those questions just gave me a migrane.

    Simple answers :

Most believe that mma = muay Thai + bjj.
Gi techniques out are out for bjj.
Muay Thai they took out the stance in most cases.

BJJ: Most MMA is No-gi so there is a difference in how you can grip your oponent, for survival on the ground it's an essential skillset. Ground striking and defense may be covered by your school but wont be the focus.

MT: I don't have personal experience in pure MT. There are Takedown techniques in MT but again it's not the focus.

MMA: Will include include wrestling and boxing techniques (and others) that bridge the gaps in Pure BJJ and MT.

Even with MMA the amount of influence form each style will differ depending on the school so it's difficult to generalize too much.

Getting a good base style to build your MMA on will differ from person to person too, my advice try it all and see what fits and what sticks.

Not that I disagree with you but aren't you reading into the OP's post?

Did I miss something? Maybe it went over my head.

From what I read the Noob is a little clueless (no offense Colbalt, my belts whiter than Michael Jackson) but nothing that a little training wont beat out of him.

All of that even depends where you do the MMA.

the big (I don't want to do a three page scattered post) differences would be the working off a wall and the punching on the ground.

You'll miss out on the wrestling aspect if you just take BJJ + MT as opposed to MMA. You will also probably spend less time in the clinch.

What is it that you're looking to accomplish?

Doesn't matter if he's clueless. It's not what he asked therefore we're assuming what information he's seeking. Remember what happens when you assume. You make an "ass" out of "U" and "U".
