Murder? I would call that self-defense, not murder, and I wouldn't have jailed her. I think this was badass.

I remember reading about that a few years ago, never did see any follow up about what happened to the woman though or even her name. Apparently the man had been stalking and harassing her for 3 months before the final attack.

I hope she was let go... India isn't all that great when it comes to justice for women who are sexually assaulted, however.

I had a friend who lived in India for 4 months, in the province (I think they are provinces out there) of Rajistan... though it was nicknamed "rapistan" by many there. She was constantly having to fend off sexual advances and molestations, despite being dressed in traditional garb and wearing a wedding ring.

There was a case, when she lived there, of a woman getting raped at a local college in front of a large crowd of witnesses. The judge dismissed the case, saying "a higher caste man cannot rape a lower caste woman."

Needs moar Kali Durga, IMO.
