Martial Arts enlightenment.

well, one thing I like about MA's is that you always carry it with you and is always ready to use.

For example, you need a ball to carry with you for soccer or other equipment for other sports or interests.

But when you do MA's its always there and always ready to use. And many benefits both for your body and mind as well.

(If i could, I would love singing as well with this logic...my sound sucks tho)

I've often thought that martial arts teaches me complete body awareness. I focus on my physical self completely which paradoxically offers a sort of spiritual benefit. I've never gotten that from other sports.

I also think there's something primally attractive about combat. Many males have protector instincts, dominance instincts, and a natural inclination to roughhousing. Go to any playground and see this in action. MA's give me a healthy outlet for these aggressive tendencies, and a place to hone those skillsets should I ever require them for self defense.

Plus it gives me a specific focus/direction to the other things I am less inclined to do but really benefit me - watching my diet, running, swimming, lifting weights can get tedious. When I think of how it benefits my martial ability I'm more inclined to think of these things in a positive light.

MA teaches you nothing that an individual sport doesn't. Team sports teach you things that martial arts don't.

You should just be doing what you like.

You learn the same things from Darts, Bowling, and Croquet as from Martial Arts?

I understand, at least I think I do. Just saying that properly taught martial arts teach numerous things that many individual sports can't.

A bit nitpicky, I know. I must have gotten caught up in the Bullshido mentality. egads, that's so unlike me.
