Ribcage pain prevention
I've read through several of the archive threads about my ribs hurt this, my ribs hurt that, but all seemed to be about pain management; I'm looking for answers about pain prevention.
This is with respect to grappling - the pain I'm talking about is caused by the guy that's you+100lbs parking on your chest for a few minutes.
My question is, what can one do (other than *not* grappling or suicide (which is pretty much the same as not grappling)) to prevent or mitigate next-day ribcage pain? Is this something that goes away with more training? Are there specific exercises for this, or do you just get used to it?

Learn some sweeps.
Don't lay flat.

Both times I jacked my ribs were when I was trying to muscle out of being stacked.
I've discovered it's much easier to roll under their stack and change my posistion.
That came with time on the mat. Good luck.
