The audio's pretty bad, and I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but this is what I heard in from the lady speaking Mandarin.

0:03: Any random audience member can get up on stage.

0:06: Hey look, there's some guy in the audience that practices t3h d3adly chi sau! Where is he?

0:24: Really, nobody? Come on!

1:26: Don't worry, feel free to hit him any way you like.

1:45: That was some pretty good Chi Sau!

Last few remarks by Mr. Leung were in Cantonese without being translated.

I'm not entirely sure whether he's an audience plant, but the crowd seems to egg the kid in the grey shirt on in the background as soon as Mr. Leung says that he saw a guy who looked like he practiced the d34dly chun.

Excuse me for my redneck dumbness on the subject, but isn't chi sau supposed to be a light contact, relaxed exercise used to learn to be aware of openings, preferably used as a warm up before sparring?

Mr. Leung switches to Mandarin briefly, telling the kid in the grey shirt to go ahead and hit his student. Someone in the audience says "sui bian da" (随便打), which is pretty much exactly what you think it means (i.e: hit him however you like), the lady at the microphone seems to concur, but says something slightly different like "mei guanxi" (没关系, no problem, go ahead).

yes and no lol. yes thats the idea of chisao. learning angles,finding holes, etc. but chi sao is like...the chun version of sparring. only we start from "sticky hands" position.kinda like when you grapple its common/formal to start on your knees, slap hands and go.
