I did kung fu for about 2 years and had just gone from silly 5 Animal stuff to Wing Chun when I joined these forums to begin with (hence the crappy chinese screen name). Both styles were mistakes. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Chi is a load of crap as is all that energy manipulation mumbo jumbo. Ignore it. Do something useful with your time. Train in something that can actually help you not just because it's more effective, but because you shouldn't have to pay your hard earned money for **** when you can simply pull it out of the toilet.

The thing with them was sensitivity, economy of movement, and bone structure and learning to use horse stance and body connection to put power into all your blows.

relaxation, flexibility and sensitivity were stressed above all else,as well as feeling for openings and using forward sensing to get a way in on your opponents centerline.
And the thing with San Da, boxing, BJJ and all these other styles we keep naming is winning fights. You might want to consider that as a goal rather than "using forward sensing to get a way in on your opponent's centerline."

Ruling out horse stance, because it's stupid, I want to say without offense.

What makes you think other martial arts don't employ "economy of movement" or "sensitivity". In my brief time doing BJJ, sensitivity became so important I was going to get it as my mandatory neck tattoo.

I went to Thorton's school along with one of my best friends, Jesse. Tom Kagan would be my Si Suk (or probably Si Baak by now) if I still did the chun.
It all sounds good but doesn't do well in execution.
My boxing pretty much out did the chun.

I know Jesse, with the beard and the buddhist ponytail!

I will go to the xingyi school and learn internal styles as well as san da. Do you think san da trained hard can compete with boxing?

I want to learn that plus taiji and the weapons of baguazha
