In times past, fighters and warriors may have taken inspiration from animals. They didnt on the other hand say "I know, why dont we fight like the chicken, the chicken is clearly superior"
They may have admired the chickens energy, its ability to strike at awkward angles and its delicious meat.
They did not, on the other hand, attempt to be the chicken, because that is retarded.
They seemed to understand, that they were not a chicken, they were a human. They had no feathers, or tail, and they tasted terrible when fried in batter. Thus, they invented a style suited to a human. -

but i really wanted to learn those five ancient animals. but if its a bad school its a bad school
