    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    mcdojo or dvd?

I live in a town with very limited training facilities and am looking to improve my grappling ability. The local fight community is either boxing or martial arts.
The martial arts guys offer grappling and mma training but dont seem like the real deal. If I trained with them I'm sure I would improve but it would definitely be cheaper to get a dvd and train with friends.
Cant decide, If any grapplers out there are reading, what do you think?
Also, I have the opportunity to test myself every few months at a bjj gym. (where I used to live)

What kind of experience do you have in grappling and MMA?
    How about your friends?

They claim mma but do not or have ever had fighters. When I asked for qualifications the head guy started bragging about his karate dans (which have been questioned by his former instructor-a friend of mine) And he told me I'd need to be a high grade in his karate to train the grappling.(this was just before I told how many blackbelts I'd eaten for breakfast). I used to watch the bjj and mma guys train at my old gym (also did a tiny bit of training) and I've seen my fair share of tma gyms-this to me looks tma. Not tryin to rag on them too much, I think they're trying to head in the right direction and with more time could be o.k.

As a kid I did a little judo and jjj. I've always been a fan of pride and ufc ( sorry) and have wrestled with a friend (growing up) who was o.k. at ninjitsu( sorry again). So I keep my arms in and stay close to my opponent. So my skills are very basic and very rusty but I've got enough to outdo most untrained people, and most people are bigger than me.
I know one guy who seems to have his **** together (knocked me out for the first time in my life with a triangle) but the others are pure krotty or boxin.

Do they have a website? I googled away, but couldn't find an MMA place near Kempsey.

It might be a better idea to just train in boxing for now.
