This makes it even clearer that you do not really do Judo.

We have a kid in our county who is 6'2" tall.

    He weighs 350 lbs.

    He is 14 years old.

Swear on my eyesite, she goes to some place here in san diego that teaches TKD and Judo. Ill find out the name from her Dad. But her RNC was tight, so McDojo or not, the Judo class is teaching good technique.

I learnt Hadaka jime, Juji gatame, Ude garami and Okuri eri jime sometime between the age of 10-13.

Quick story: after a few months of doing BJJ I thought I was t3h r34l d34dly so when my best friend (who did A LOT of wrestling in high school) said, "Let's wrestle dude," I thought I'd choke him out or armbar him without too much trouble. Noob hubris FTW! What followed was: got double-legged, failed armbar, got my so-called guard passed, and then twisting arm control to RNC. Not the last time I got stomped unexpectedly, but it was the last time I was that cocky about my sk1llz.

Well, if you want to put someone face down, it seems wrestling could be useful right?

I mean, it's almost a year since I joined my wrestling (freestyle) and I have seen plenty of moves, variations that make you end up on your face.

So, I know the main topic is judo throws in bjj, but how about wrestling moves (other than the classic takedowns) to bjj?

Anyhow who did the wrestling - bjj transition?

    On a personal note:
One of my coaches did some judo. I have also a top of pal that did judo and now there are some students that want to try judo out. So, next year I expect some judo/newaza action !

One of the students did also pankratio so I hope to learn a couple of leglocks (LEGLOCKS YEAHHHHHHH!)

    -
For the ones that already do bjj:
Do you think that someone that did wrestling before has an easier time on bjj?

Of course. Especially No-Gi. Some of the better wrestlers get really frustrated by the Gi.
