UFC 131: Dos Santos vs Carwin. June 11, 2011

    UFC 131
    June 11, 2011
    Rogers Arena
    Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Shane Carwin vs. Junior dos Santos
    Kenny Florian vs. Diego Nunes
Jon Olav Einemo vs. Dave Herman
    Demian Maia vs. Mark Munoz
    Donald Cerrone vs. Vagner Rocha
    Sam Stout vs. Yves Edwards
    Jesse Bongfeldt vs. Chris Weidman
    Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Mike Massenzio
    Nick Ring vs. James Head
    Dustin Poirier vs. Jason Young
    Joey Beltran vs. Aaron Rosa
    Michihiro Omigawa vs. Darren Elkins

Imagine if the Vancouver Canucks won the Stanley Cup on Friday before, it would be madness and a crazy party!

Shane Carwin steps into a huge opportunity to replace Brock Lesnar. Brock unfortunately was afflicted with another flare up of diverticulitis in May 2011, surgery was completed and his expected timeline to return is 2012.

Fights I'm most excited about, and predictions:

Shane Carwin vs. Junior dos Santos
    Kenny Florian vs. Diego Nunes
Demian Maia vs. Mark Munoz - submission of the night
Donald Cerrone vs. Vagner Rocha - fight of the night
    Dustin Poirier vs. Jason Young
Joey Beltran vs. Aaron Rosa - KO of the night

    Is the BullBook working yet?

I'd say JDS is a better overall fighter than Carwin is, even if he does have beefiness on his side, as well as better cardio. I'll go with Santos, round 2-3 TKO after Carwin gasses.

Interested to see how Einemo will do. An extremely high level grappler coming off literally years of inactivity. To be safe, I'll go with Herman due to ringrust.

I hope your Bruins win, but thought I'd help you plan the set list just in case...

    Carwin, Florian, Maia, Cerrone, Edwards.

Can't wait to see Carwin and JDS throw some HUGE bombs at each other.

Maia's going to take down Munoz fairly easily and everyone's gonna be all like 'OH NOES, BUT MUNOZ DOES THE WRESTLE IN COLLEGE GOOD'.
