I am hosting an amatuer shooto tourney this October outside Pittsburgh Pa.
due to pa law a physical must be secured, but we are going to be able to for go the registration fee.
for those unfamiliar shooto is kind of like the golden gloves version of mma. using 7-8 OZ gloves & Shin instep protectors, class C & below also uses headgear, huge in europe & Australia, great arena for upcoming fighters, or gyms looking to make a name for themselves.
there currently is no active circut in the usa, so we are looking to create a competitive circut, with the possibillity of cross competition beyond our borders.
This is a peliminary search for teams, I am in need of fighters in the following weights & Classes
Open class B rules (age 17 - 34)
Masters( age 35 +) Class B rules
Jr age 15-17 (class D rules)
this will be a tourney, with one or 2 days depending on the turnout,
I am not aposed to securing hotel rooms for teams who can bring fighters from outside the area esp. in the Masters division!
I am having problembs with my link to the rules, if you google shooto rules they will come up, I will post them tommorow.
call me @ 412-587-1268 our date is the weekend of October 22nd!
also to those concerned, I am in remmision & training again, thanks for your prayers. I look forward to getting back into the saddle! the thought of training has kept me sane while fighting this disease!

This is awsome! I love the sounds of this, and pittsburgh isn't too far from me. I think MMA tournys are awsome! Whats the prize for the winner of each bracket? Trophy? Belt? And more importantly, great job overcoming lifes struggles and recovering!
