But please refer to my previous post. Many throws are not applicable in streeefights or MMA. Anyway before flamming me read my last post on the previous page. You'll get my meaning.

If it leaves you open for a punch/elbow don't do it. Better to take down from the clinch, or shoot.

YOU NEED TO STFU ABOUT **** YOU DON"T KNOW!!

Throws are more applicable to streetfights not LESS. People that don't know how to defend against throws get tossed on their fucking head. That's just the way it is. And in a streetfight you see people throw big over commited techniques all the time. That is the IDEAL setup for a hard throw so in clonclusion, STFU!

Have you guys even been watching MMA lately? Throws (and not all throws are hip throws!) are getting more and more popular.

Which seems to include everything related to martial arts.

Sort of goes hand in hand with hating getting choked. :)

Want to see some Judo throws in action? Carlos Newton, Yoshida. Sure..they don't TOSS the guy..but they do chuck em to the mat. And as much as I dislike Yoshida, his match against Frye and in the tourney were as good as an example as you'll ever get of a pure Judo guy doing MMA. Judo works. Problem is that most people that do judo do not train it in a manner that is effective in MMA but rather effective in Judo competition. And just because we don't see a lot of it in MMA doesn't mean it is invalid. What we see is subject to what the participants practice. Which for the most part is BJJ/MT.

On the street...chuck someone on pavement. Game over.

personally i like the leg sweeps more ...

the throws that i really don't like are the ones that don't use underhooks ...

for example ... if you're going to do ipon seonagi ... makre sure you do it FAST .. if not .. he has a choke ...

what i'd like to do is work on the combo throws more ... mixing throws with throws or punches ...

guess we'll try that at the northwest throwdown ...
