Hi guys! Just thought I'd let you see the video of my first fighter from my gym! I've been training and coaching other students for a while now but in case you don't know, I started my own club in Germany about 8 months ago and this is the first fighter to have been trained exclusively by me.
My guy is Juri, he's had 8 months training and this is a C class fight. His opponent is a guy called Gary Meleady who's been training for 5 years and had a couple of pro fights, a couple of amateur fights and to top matters, is the younger brother of one Stephen Meleady. A guy who just so happens to be ranked top 3 in his weight class in the UK if not Europe.
Lots of things I can pick on but all in all I'm fairly happy with this!
The show was on Saturday the 18th of June at Hostile Intentions 4 in Hamilton, Scotland. The whole show was minted.

Hi. I think for a first fight and only eight months of training your guy did very well.
Where in Germany did you start your own club?

He is tough and game, look when he throws the right cross he does not turn the hill and that's a shame, less power. And no body punches, he should counter a bit more to the body, especially the left hook to the liver.

if i may suggest, some only left hand sparring. It will sharpen the jab into perfection, it can be a nice starter in every practice to worm up to. His jab conected many times but lacked some real bite to it. It will teach them to double up on the jab, and use it as a real weapon .

tbh, though boxing isn't his strong point, it wasn't the issue in this fight. He needs to throw more kicks. Body punches are quite risky in thai boxing due to the clinch.
