shotfighter, up until about a year ago I would have been with you. In the sense that, intellectually, some cancers have better prognoses than others. However, that doesn't make them "better" in any way. No matter the outcome, everyone with cancer legitimately fears for their life, and they suffer. The survivors don't have it easy.
Around a year ago, my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and immediately pushed into action. Thankfully, his cancer was caught early, and he had access to good doctors who treated him quickly and well. At this point, his prognosis is looking very good. But with cancer, you never know, and even if it disappears now, he will have to live the rest of his life with the fear that it will return to try to take his life. As the loved one of someone with cancer, I can tell you personally that it doesn't matter what type of cancer he had, or how good his prognosis is. He suffered greatly both physically and emotionally, and so did myself and everyone of his loved ones. Not only will the threat of this haunt him for the rest of his life, but (to an admittedly lesser extent), it will haunt me too.

You're right. Cancer takes years. Loved ones get to watch you suffer. It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat. The pain and suffering persists. You have time to comprehend what's ahead of you.
Cancer is sure a walk in the park isn't it?

That's one healthy, well oxygenated brain.
Really? Telling someone they're a "no one". Really?
