At my BJJ I roll with a few chicks who complain if I go easy. I treat weaker or less skilled guys the same way. I might give an opening or two or not take every opportunity to sub a less skilled partner. The chicks still complain so I just sub them over and over and they don't learn as much.
Back on topic; excuses not to roll/excuses for sucking and pussing out after a short time: 1)I'm way out of shape 2) I gotta quit smokingLast edited by jspeedy; 5/17/2011 11:30am at . Reason: shit for brains

I remember one pompous douche who did kung fu, and insisted he couldn't spar because gloves would ruin his technique.
Then, the one or two times we finally did get him on the mat, he insisted that no one punch him in the face. Mind you, he would still throw headshots, just no one else could.
Oh, and "no grappling," after months of talking about how is horse stance was too mighty for anyone to take him down.The fool thinks himself immortal,
If he hold back from battle;
But old age will grant him no truce,
Even if spears spare him. -

you know what though?
even if someone is a beginner asking you to "go easy" because of a "foot" injury, at least they are stepping up and sparring, theyll lose thier fear eventually and wont use an excuse to cover for it.
even if someone is asking you to "go easy" at least they ARE sparring.
if they end up bieng an ass however and going all out on you after getting you agree to go lesser contact or not target his injured appendage with heavy force, then THATs fucked up. that also shows IMO that the guy is there to try to "trick" you so he can hurt you, not actually learn from the sparring session. -

Go easy doesn't mean you aren't sparring. It means "listen you fucking noob, I fully expect you to start windmilling at me like a retarded chimpanzee, and since I came here to TRAIN and not drop you face-first on the mat, go easy." I say it quite often and believe it or not, even at my advanced age I can hurt people.

1) That it doesn't work
2) That it does work"
