    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Everything you should know about seoi nage - impressions?

I ordered that DVD out of wanting to know what the heck it is about, but budovideos has some really crappy shipping choices. So it's not here yet.

To anyone who has it - how good is it?

I HATE seoi nage. It ruined my back.

BJJ might make you a better ground fighter, but Judo will make you a better dancer.

Yes. I did it wrong for a solid half hour. Then the dr didn't tell me how to properly take care of the healed injury, and I kept tearing it up for another 6 months.

I got to the point where the only thing it DIDN'T hurt to do was to lie flat.

I FINALLY went to a sports med dr, who gave me physical therapy that got me back to normal in 2 months.

BUT - scar tissue is forever and I've got a whole lot of it back there.

    Half an hour?

It takes some pretty serious muscling of technique to **** yourself up that much in such a short time.

What was your coach doing during this trial of obstinacy?

Perhaps if you had watched the DVD the OP is asking about then you wouldn't have had those problems. Then again doesn't look like we are likely to find that out at this rate.

What did proper care consist of? I'm not in pain right now, but I'm not 100%, and I know that trying ippon seoi nagi will aggravate the right side of my back. Doctor was not particularly insightful about what to do other than to avoid things that felt like they aggravated the injury.

Yoga help your injury and help you be more aware of your posture generally.

When I saw the replies I was hoping that someone watched the DVD but all I got is off-topic bollocks. Screw you guys!

Either way, I've got the DVD now (after exactly 18 days). I will write my review once I've watched it a couple of times.

Have you got Koga's and or Jeon's dvd? Becuase until now they were the most comprehensive dvds on seoi nage so it would be interesting to get a comparison.
