I'd like to counter that I make a living as a self-employed artist in the poorest state in the union, and do so because I was never able to find a day job.

As someone who has worked for some successful schools and is planning on opening my own one day, money is a big thought for me. It is definitely not for you if you are not 150% passionate about it, because it is a lot of WORK. The people I know who are making good money are literally hustling from 10am-9pm 5 or 6 days a week sometimes. A lot of school owners are burnt out. That's why they turn to things like NAPMA because their sales pitch is "do less and make money hand over fist." I really admire guys like Omega that keep their business going without falling into the trap of laziness and greed.
