If you deal a red card you are doing dive bombers for the face value of the card. Picture cards are 10.

If you can do a whole deck then you will mess with the numbers of picture cards (like jack=15, queen=20, king=30). You can do more than one 'lap' around a deck. You can make it more varied than just 'divebomber' or 'squats'. Diamonds could be divebombers and hearts could be incline pushups. Clubs could be pistols and spades could be knee-raises. You get the idea.
No matter how fit or unfit you are there is a way to tweak the intensity of this so that it's hard enough to work up a sweat and fight for breath, but that it's still sustainable for 10, 20 or 30 minutes. The variety of the random order of cards stops it from getting boring too.
Wow, this actually sounds like a lot of fun.

While I believe running is for cowards, I also find if you don't enjoy your cardio, you're less likely to do it. Music, partners, or scenery make it more enjoyable. Ride a bike with friends or family. Find different paths and enjoy the scenery. Cruise college campuses while working on your tan.

I'll second biking. It's decent cardio, low impact, saves on gas. Get some audiobooks and an mp3 player, and you can get reading done at the same time.

"Cardio" is a misnomer.
You have aerobic and anaerobic systems.
Something like jogging is aerobic... most "cardio" is aerobic...
Fighting is somewhat aerobic (elevated heart rate/breathing), but primarily anaerobic/active recovery cycles.
Doing a bunch of aerobic stuff (running, biking) just won't help you much...
Something like sprint intervals would be much more useful to you.

Aerobic conditioning has an effect on how quickly you recover when doing anaerobic work I think. The 'roadwork' is what allows you to get the most out of the more intense sessions, or at least build up to them.
Except traditional roadwork is repetitive and high impact on the joints, especially if you're carrying too much fat or just heavily muscled.
