IDPA, USPSA, some NRA action pistol and various unaffiliated stuff. It's a good time.

- A Practical Guide to Canada's Gun Laws for Americans—pretty good, but not authoritative in any real sense.
- Royal Canadian Mounted Police: Prohibited Firearms—the first of three authoritative sources I'll list, be sure to read them all.
- Royal Canadian Mounted Police: List of Restricted and Prohibited Firearms—When I read this for the first time, I began to notice that the Canadian firearms laws seem to be preoccupied with anything which might be easily concealed or might appear similar to military small arms.
- Department of Justice Canada: Firearms Act—The legislation itself, supplemental to the Canadian Criminal Code.
I looked into Canadian firearms laws a couple of years ago while researching a move to Montréal and, while I'm by no means an authority, that gave me a passing familiarity with the key provisions. In fact, part of my reasoning for buying an M1911A1 clone was compliance with Canadian laws.

Yes, the laws in Canada are pretty draconian. That said, shooting sports are alive and well, if looking a little pale.
The short version: in order to shoot IPSC you need: a restricted license; membership at a club authorized for the discharge of restricted firearms; an Authorization to Transport restricted firearms from your domicile to said club; a registration certificate for your firearms; black badge.
Lots of paper, but feasible.

Another video.. not a match, just familiarizing with IDPA like course. I kept making mistakes reloading at the wrong time, aiming too long, not moving ahead to the next target, and engaging targets at the wrong order. So I'm practicing that. I'm not taking the cover very seriously just yet.
Table is supposed to be a wall to lean out of. COF was two targets on the left engaged tac sequence/tac priority, one target right two shots, and steel target in the middle. Targets were either 1/3 scale IDPA targets or bullseye targets. Distance was left one 7 yards, right one 10 yards, steel target 15.

Looks like you could shave some time off your presentation. It seemed like 3-4 seconds from draw till you made your first shot?
