    Noob in Mississippi

Hi! I am a 44 year old in Mississippi. I studied Isshin-Ryu for several years, but burned out on the constant learning of new katas. I am looking forward to starting to train again, and hunting around for a judo or JJJ school. I enjoy reading about the many different styles, and am a big fan of MMA since the early days of the UFC.

    Regards,
    Mark

    Welcome to Bullshido.

I'll google-fu some judo clubs in the state. You want to narrow down your locale? Missisip is one big area.

Don't fear the search function up top, you can find all kinds of great stuff. It is all of our friend. Read the 'stickies' in each forum, to get a feel for the rules, and regs in different sections....they differ wildly.

Incidentally, Bob just broke rule #247

Rule #247: Failure to comment on Harold Howard's 'somersault of doom' subsequent to any relevant video link results in an immediate kick to the nads, followed by 10 pushups

We have a member in Starkville I can hook you up with, if that's close by.

Thanks for the contacts! I am on the Mississippi Coast, just a few minutes from Ocean Springs. I will look into the Judo school there. I need to get serious about training again!

here's everything you need. also, get in touch with travis neagle at gracie south. he's a real mensch and a wicked radical grappler. worth the drive for you to visit his school in flowood.

Thanks again! I checked the schools on that link. The Gracie Barra JJ school in Wiggins or Diamondhead are not that far, and look interesting. I am totally unfamiliar with JJ liniage, is that part of "the" Gracie BJJ family?

    I appreciate all the help!
