The only way to convince that this works is to show it against a competent and determined attacker rather than a dancing partner. Anything else is a deliberate attempt to mislead or satisfy the ego.

The amount of self-delusion there is in martial arts never ceases to amaze me, it is shocking really that presumably normal people can be taken in by this sort of rubbish.

No one would buy a washing machine that did a half-assed wash, then stopped half way through for a rest, but some people happily spend money on stupid training that does not work.

That's not why it works. You're missing the most important part of the defence, you fool... You have to stand on one foot and put your weight on your heel.

You'll never understand the wing chun, idiot!

    Nope.

I was just commenting on how street fighters can be looked at as being both bad ass and complete fools at the same time.
Nope, it is the irony not the act. It is also Rhetorical.

Chun takedown defenses work against Chun takedowns.

This was in the side bar of the last video. About the only realistic thing contained here, is that producing a knife is an excellent takedown defence.

"So, yeah, Zen teachers may well insult you, work you to the bone, hit you with sticks, shout verbal abuse at you, and punch the **** out of you.
And when the ****'s been punched out of you, you might just find that you're far better-off without it." - Vieux Normand

"Needless to say, it's much easier to clear a bunch of drunk kids out of your house when you're yelling GTFO and carrying a samurai sword." - DerAuslander

"Eventually, I realized it doesn't matter what art you train, what matters is the method in which you train. Training in an alive manner, under skilled and qualified instruction, is the single most important aspect of gaining martial skill. All else is window dressing." - JNP : Saying it how it is!
