    Hi from Italy

Hi all, I have finally decided to subscribe in BS.
I train and teach Daido Juku Kudo in Italy, after many years of other martial arts.

    See you soon :)

Welcome to the site. I am pretty certain you may be the only Daido Juku practitioner that is posting on the site.

Does your school compete in mma as well as style specific tournaments?

Thank you, for the moment we just compete in a specific championship and tournament, no mma or similar, but I hope to develop Kudo integrating with other circuits.

Very cool. How does your curriculum break down between striking, throwing/takedowns and grappling?

Kudo is based primarily on the striking, because in the sporting regulations you can go on ground only twice for 30 seconds each.
During the clinch can also strike with the head so when grappling usually tends to lead immediately to the ground.
    I now do in training for a 50% striking and 50% takedowns/ground

How big is Kudo/Daido Juku in Italy? Are there many schools? (I might find myself there soon)

    Thank you :)

In competition we wear white or blue gi (the sleeves are a bit shorter than standard karategi), headgear (the infamous "space helmet" :) ) and tiny gloves if you want.
    And obiouvsly a nutshell.

Not so big movement, we started in 2008 but we got some good placements with Danilo Capuzi in 2009 tokyo world championship and in 2011 russian world cup.
My school is the first one in north italy, so I have just to raise up :)

    Welcome!
Do your students come from previous MA backgrounds, or are mostly practicing Daido Juku as their first experience? In competitions I imagine you would face many ex-judoka or ex-karateka?
