    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Hola from California

I'm new to martial arts. Never really thought I needed it but I had an epiphany "perhaps learning how to fight would be beneficial." That went through my head as I was being over powered by my friend as we were messing around. On top of that I am working on a career in Law Enforcement with the LAPD and I'd really like to survive the streets of L.A. once I get on the job. The academy has, I've heard, awesome training, but I want to supplement it. Any recommendations would be great.

    Welcome to Bullshido Adam12.

I suggest a combination of dry fire drills, H.I.I.T. training with sprints and Judo.

I'm going to look into all of that. I was also thinking of Krav Maga. I don't know if that would be necessary though, but I've talked to a few officers and they seem to recommend it. I'll search the forum for posts on it.
