Jay brandt????????????

I was just wondering if anyone knows of this dude Jay Brandt. I guess he asked Joe Moreira to be part of his association & said he is a Renzo Gracie 3rd degree BB. Joe believed him & got him the certificate, made him a part of his association but found out Renzo Gracie never knew who he even was. Who is this guy???? Anyone heard anything about this "Jay Brandt?" Joe has been trying to get a hold of this guy, but no one seems to be able to reach him.

Typically, a poster would open a thread with at least a link to a website.

Seeing as you're new, have you done a search within this site for Jay?

3rd degree in bjj is an accomplishment.

MABS, this forum, is heavily moderated. Your sources for what you've "heard" would be a good first step.

Try typing 'Jay Brandt' into the BS search engine.

A quick google search on "Jay Brandt bjj",, "Jay Brandt jiu jitsu" and "Jay Brandt grappling" yields no results in the first three pages of links. Substituting "Jason Brandt" for "Jay Brandt" also yields nothing worthwhile. Where is he located? Is he teaching anywhere? Or is it simply that someone got scammed out of affiliation fees and the dude has dropped off the radar?

Wait a second... Joe Moreira is an 8th degree BJJ black belt. Why would he affiliate with a 3rd degree under someone who doesn't rank as highly as he does?

You've made accusations based on hearsay. You have no facts. This is not an investigation and I'd love to know what stake you have in this accusation, because I'm pretty certain Joe Moreira can take care of himself.

So where did you overhear this nugget of info? What is your martial arts experience, and how are you involved with Joe Moreira and the unfortunate Mr. Brandt?

One thing you should be aware of is that the seriousness of investigations are directly related to the amount of question marks the accuser uses in the title. Also most false accusations are started by female posters, despite the relatively small amount of females that use this site. I can only assume that you are male, and used a generic feminine posting name to throw us off track.
