We can turn the last round into a grappling only match gi or no gi. I prefer gi, but it's up to you.

I was trying to point out that it's kind of vague, that's all. I am making no assumptions."Never trust a quote you read on the internet" - Abraham Lincoln

3 1 minute rounds, KO gets DQd and no hard contact. Ref stops action if lots of punches / kicks are connecting.
I think 3 round 5 minutes
No elbows anywhere, no knees to head
points for takedowns no points for sub attempts, but obviously sub or TKO wins.
points for strikes that land, standard 9-10 point rules for winner and loser rounds, deductions for getting standing 8 counts

mma rules have standing 8 counts?

I like the 15 min round MMA rules. That way I can see Sirc doing parkour for 14 min before he gets choked out."Never trust a quote you read on the internet" - Abraham Lincoln

Hmm.. maybe standing 8 counts are inappropriate.
I don't like the 15 min rule because I feel like it favors the more advanced grappler. I don't like sirc's proposal because it favors him with sanda competition experience. I do like fair and square MMA rules 5 min rounds because then both are more or less on equal grounds.

If this is about striking capability, it should probably be tilted toward a striking format. SanDa rules are a good blend. No subs, but you do score for takedowns under certain conditions.
No kick counter, no cupchecks, possibly no knees to the head, if you are concerned about safety. Winner gets to shave the loser's head, or dye it.

We need someone that Sirc has some chance of defeating, under some ruleset.
I think this kid got his BB the same way Sirc did, and is in about the same weight class:
