At least she is not a fat, undisciplined, video game watching, unattended future wastoid like many of her peers. She's in a gym, getting exercise and learning to love martial arts. Eventually she will stumble onto Bullshido when she's 18, find out krotty sucks and end up training No Gi and MT. Relax people.

You can't blame the girl, you have to blame the people that are teaching her to train that way - I'd bet a good chunk of change that she was awarded the belts purely on the merits of memorizing and then "performing" a lot of katas. And on the subject of effective training, I'd also bet that all the girls that train at the boxing gym I go could mercilessly beat the ever-loving piss out of her and probably not even take a shot from her while doing it. Why? Beacause they train all the time on mitts, live punch defense drills, heavy bags, and live sparring.

The kata are a good bit similar, just performed differently (rhythm, etc).
