My first answer wasn't sarcastic, but if you care to read a strictly factual response, here it is. Given that all your sparring partners are, at best, close to the intermediate level, the chances of any of you picking up clean technique from this training are slim to none.
Besides the safety factor, training under competent supervision means that someone is taking the time to teach you good technique. -

Mr Kostic...Jeff, Can I say Jeff?
Jeff,
Don't get discouraged by the reactions of so called 'competent fighters' aka forumdwellers.
If you use some sensibility and good rulesets there isnt too much that can go wrong.
You dont even need mats.
I strongly advise you to do it (kimbo slice, anyone?), it will make for some really interested and invalueble experiences, whether you've had formal training or not.
When you decide to do it, you can, if you like, post the footage on youtube and link it here, and im more than willing to give you and your friends pointers.
Remember, for me to give you the best accurate advice over internet I need multiple camera angles. -
