Canadian MMA fighter Kearn Nedd killed during botched robbery.

MMA fighter Kearn Nedd (28) of Brampton, Ontario was killed attempting to thwart a robbery at Brampton's Rozz Restaurant and Entertainment Complex, Sunday.

Witnesses said Nedd was shot during the attempted robbery of a charity poker game. There were about 150 people in the banquet hall when two men burst in, firing several times. Nedd scuffled with one of the intruders, and was shot. He later succumbed to his wounds, after being transported to the hospital.
His training partner,at Bojan Kladnjakovic, told the Tononto Star that Nedd "died a hero". He went on:

“He was just so helpful all the time....This time it cost him his life. He always stuck up for people who couldn’t defend themselves.”

Nedd planned to make his pro debut either next month in Gananoque or in June at Mississauga’s Hershey Centre.

Not making a joke here, it serves as a good example to show why RBSD operates on a flawed premise. A professional fighter who spends more time training and competing than anyone with any other job, whose entire life revolves around Martial Arts, is killed as easily as anyone in the age of handguns.

In case you take that as a dig at the victim, I absolutely don't intend it that way. I don't think he was trying to be Bruce Lee. The man was just trying to protect those people around him. I'm certain that even if he had never stepped foot in a gym, he would have risked his life to intervene on everyone's behalf. My condolences to his family and loved ones. RIP Kearn Nedd.

I've heard it said that math shows we are all linked by a maximum of 7 people. In this case I know one of the victim's friends currently at the University of Windsor. He was telling me about this a couple days ago. My sentiments go out to the family and friends of Nedd.

that was very tragic, but the martial arts is about learning from the examples and mistakes of our brothers in the arts, this is maybe a called to hone, or refine our gun defense techniques that is based on reality, not tradition. his loss will not be in vain on my end. r.i.p
