    Hurt Hand

It was a about 6 weeks ago when I punched the hell out of my sparring partners hip bone. Didn't hurt him a bit of course, but I thought I broke my hand. It's best (for him) that I missed but my hand is still really messed up. I had X-rays taken - nothing broken- doctor says I stretched the tendons and ligaments in the back of my hand and in my wrist. She also said it would take a long time to heal but crap man........ 6 wks later I still can't shake hands or unscrew tight lids. I can spar but I have to completely immobalize (sp?) my wrist.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to speed recovery.

fastest recovery = just do stretches and very light weights(5lbs?) with it. No sudden, jarring, or hard pressure. That's what ive had to do for about 4 months...

Also, heat helps before you stretch or do any light light weights

Ask your doctor about Anti-inflammitory pills ( called `naproxin` pills ) these help to reduce inflamation (if thats part of the problem) to muscles tendons and joints, they`ve worked for me in the past (back / shoulder and wrist injuries), although your doctor might recommend other makes. Also, try a good `Dit Da Jow` lotion (chinese medicine), used to treat bruises to muscles and tendons (also helps nerve damage). These aren`t magic cures, but they do speed up the recovery process a lot.

A site that sells many Dit Da Jow`s:

    Hope thats some help

I've heard bad things about dit da jows, namely some of them(ones bought online mostly) cause fairly serious chemical burns. However, I don't know what store...
