He might surprise....or they might bore each other to death. Double-mortality TKO.

    Basically, yes.
That's not to say, if he puts GSP on his back, GSP is gonna be in some trouble, but that's much easier said than done.
So, yeah, GSP by "whatever he feels is the safest, most guaranteed, sure-fire way to get the W" - cause he's smart.

I think you are crazy, my money is on Shields.

Jake shileds is a elite grappler, with titles like:

    Strikeforce Middleweight Champion
    Elite XC Welterweight Champion
    Shooto Middleweight Champion

    Grappling Accolades:

2005 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships Bronze Medal
2005 Pan American Championships Gold medalist
    2005 Gracie open superfight champion
Grapplers Quest advance champion (three times)

He is on a 15 fight winning streak since 2005.

I think this is a pretty good resume vs GSP, I dont think it will be a easy fight but I believe Jake Shields will be the dominate fighter on the ground and will pull off a second round submission.

Now to just hope I'm right.

I'm less afraid of it being a mismatch, than a zzzfest. They're both great athletes. I just hope they're ready to do the damn thing.

Shields is worthy of the hype.

He may be one of the most boring fighters to watch but the fact that...

    a. He's on a 15 fight winning streak.
    b. He has World Class Jiu Jitsu.
    c. He went up to middleweight and dominated Dan Henderson - Everybody's talking about GSP's wrestling but if Hendo could'nt keep the fight standing GSP may struggle also.

All go to show he could well be the guy to beat GSP (at Welterweight).

Dont get me wrong If i had to put money on it I would always go with GSP but Shields is more than a worthy opponent.

Shields has a good chance chance on the ground, if he manages to get a hold of GSP, get him down, and keep him down. Which isn't going to be easy considering Shields' standup couldn't kill a fly, and GSP has stuffed or gotten right back up from guys with wrestling at the level of Koscheck and Fitch. And let's be realistic, Shields isn't invincible on the ground either considering Mayhem was about 5 seconds from putting him to sleep if the bell didn't save him.

I'm saying GSP by TKO in round 3.
