Saw this before Aeso but I was looking into this gi specifically for two reasons:
1. Don't want to lose too much weigh. I'm too old for that.
2. They mention something about a rip proof pant and I wanted to know if that's something that's illegal in gi tournaments. (remember when they came out with the grip crotch in sprawl shorts?)

1. "Ripstop" Is totally fine in Gi tournaments.
2. Why would you have to lose more weight with a different Gi?

Current gi is too big. Weighs 6.5 lbs. I've got to get a smaller gi lighter gi, I don't feel like loosing a lot of weight.

Before this thread gets too long, I'd like to take this opportunity to post a summary:

What do you think of <Brand X> gi (or gun)?
Why don't you try <Brand Y> gi (or gun)?
I have a <Brand Z> gi (or gun). I like it.
Well, if cost is a factor, then <Brand A> gi (or gun) is a good choice.
I don't really like the <Brand Z> gi (or gun).
<Brand J> gi (or gun) is okay for competition, but for every day, you should look at <Brand Q> gi (or gun).
<Brand B> gi (or gun) feels very nice and is easy to clean. My wife owns one.
Yeah, <Brand X> gi (or gun) is great. Have you tried <Brand H> gi (or gun)? I've heard good things about those.
