Strikeforce: Diaz vs Daley - April 9

    Main Card:
    Shinya Aoki vs. Lyle Beerbohm
    Gegard Mousasi vs. Keith Jardine
Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Gilbert Melendez (Strikeforce Lightweight Champion)
Paul Daley vs. Nick Diaz (Strikeforce Welterweight Champion)

    Preliminary Bouts:
    Casey Ryan vs. Paul Song
    Edgar Cardenas vs. Rolando Perez
    A.J. Matthews vs. Herman Terrado
    Saad Awad vs. Joe Duarte
    Brett Albee vs. Virgil Zwicker
    Takaya Hiroyuki vs. Robert Peralta

Fantastic card: 2 title bouts (One of them a classic douche showdown), a great grappling match up and potential bloodbath in the Mousasi vs Jardin fight!

So picks and how they will win?

Shinya Aoki vs. Lyle Beerbohm - by Submission (of course!)

    Gegard Mousasi
    vs. Keith Jardine - KO

Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Gilbert Melendez - 1st round KO.

Paul Daley vs. Nick Diaz - Submission

Diaz's ground game is on an entirely different level to Daley's but I'm pretty certain he'll stand and trade with Daley at least for a while. Diaz has great hands and seems to like getting hit in the face but Daley punches harder than pretty much anyone in the Welterweight Division.

Would love to see another Daley KO - but chances are Diaz will win by submission.

Diaz is only going to win by submission if he gets him there and I think his ego and meh takedowns mean he will stand and trade for at least a couple of rounds.

I think that we will either see Daley TKO Diaz within the first 2 rounds or Diaz submit a tired and frustrated Daley late in the fight.

I'm picking Daley, other than that my main card picks are the same as yours.

Yeah thats basically what i was thinking.

Paul Daley may forever be a one-dimensional fighter, but when faced with a fellow striker, it’s generally been a no contest: the other guy gets knocked out.

Daley's a HUGE welterweight and his punchpower makes him one of the most exciting guys in the division to watch. If he can get Diaz to stand and trade with him could well pull off another knock out victory.

However all Diaz needs to do is fight smart and take him down because on the ground its really not much of a contest.

    Agreed.

By the way, isn't Daley refusing to fight for evil Dana company? So, maybe Diaz wins by just showing up.

Despite his losing streak, Jardine is an okay fighter. But he's way outclassed here. Poor guy.

Oh, he's come back around to saying he's "ready to re-sign with the UFC", according to a bunch of articles on ESPN. I never thought I'd be rooting for either of the Diaz'es, but I hope Daley gets crushed. What a tool. At a time when he needs to just shut up and do his job considering what thin ice he's on with his new old bosses, he just keeps shooting his mouth off like a self-righteous teenager with an entitlement complex. At least the Diaz brothers are pretty up front about being assholes. Daley seems to think he's the victim.
