That a man who rises from nothing in Phillipino society to become the most celebrated athlete in the history of the country, indeed, one of the most popular individuals in the country's history - could not possibly be a good, caring person who genuinely has the interests of the average citizen in mind?
Having your character tested is one thing, but bending is another.
Have you any idea what this man has done for his people? I think it is quite possible you are talking out of your teenage ass and don't have a clue.
